Go to Post For example an iron block is very simple and very robust. Strap a control system on it and it will meet the requirements of being a FIRST robot. However, it sure doesn't do very much, nor is it innovative. - sanddrag [more]

What do you have to do to get?

What do you have to do to get a spot at the Nationals if your not on the list now. I know that every year FIRST saves some spots open for teams to go to nationals.

Doubtful my team will go I would still like to know. I am guessing that we probly wont be because we are going to the Rutgers regional and the nationals is 3 or 4 days after it. Also because at this time we do not have 4 thousand in our account.

I wouldn't be to sure abou this. Last year we were an odd team and felt we had no chance in going to nationals. Then at UTC we were shocked to find out that we had won the Delphi Driving Tommorrow's Technology award. We had only 2 weeks to get ready so immediatly we started making plans only to find out that the school didn't want us to go and canceled all plans. The next week was vacation so a sadly went off to the Carribbean (is this even possible?) When I returned to school on Tuesday I was eagerly greeted by our captain saying the school finally gave us permission and we would fly out Wendsday after school. In the matter of three days we were able to get everything together and had a blast at Nationals. You just have to remember anything is possible with a teamful of GEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
