Go to Post Active control of game pieces throughout all stages of your robot's interactions with it is critical. Never let gravity/inertia control the game piece. If you want a game piece to go somewhere, you MAKE it go there. - Jeremy Germita [more]

PNW Glacier Peak

A long, frustrating, but enjoyable day at Glacier Peak. The venue and views are fantastic - how often can you see gorgeous mountain ranges from your pit?

Started the day with an autonomous routine that had not been adjusted for the competition bot and finished with three straight... Managed to get substantial playing time for all our "reserve" drivers, helped a rookie team get their feet wet - lending them our top human player for the morning and our other for the rest of the weekend, managed to get into a huge collision with a misguided rookie bot during autonomous and are in 3rd place... We'll see how the top drive team does with acfully operational robot tomorrow....our best match: 20 pt auto, put Three totes on coopertition step, made a noodled stack of five totes and an RC for a 96 pt contribution to the alliance. Perhaps we can better that tomorrow....

Re: PNW Glacier Peak

Alas... Congrats to 2522 and their alliance for the victory.

948 never quite got things going as well as the should have... Repeated collisions during autonomous with stray alliance members -including an especially brutal one in their third match and a quite untimely one in the 12th took a toll on the robot - which finally gave out in the finals with a completely non-functional lifter.... From our perspective, with repairs, perhaps some "strengthening" of the lifter and a slight tuning of the tote-stacking autonomous so that it doesn't knock over the RC's as often, we'll be in very good shape.... I was especially pleased with our drive team - which improved tremendously throughout the weekend.

Other robots that look strong:
3238 will do well in their next district as is: They have a human player with extreme noodle-throwing accuracy...

2522 is a good little landfill robot. If they can add a little something that grabs RC's from the step during autonomous, they'll be a threat at the district championship.

3787 and 2930 also competed very well.... 2930 also deserves kudos for winning Chairman's.
