Team 930: 12 Tote Lift

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7deFSZdhMHM

While testing our gripping and lifting mechanisms we were able to lift twelve totes at the same time. Our robot is designed to grab two toes at a time from the landfill, but in this test we were using one gripper at a time.

Our robot is able to drive. We were only testing the lift this time though, hence no driving.

Recorded with my phone, sorry for the poor quality and awkward screen.

Re: Team 930: 12 Tote Lift

Wow. A little scary at the end but could make some very quick stacks.

Good luck!

Re: Team 930: 12 Tote Lift

Do you have any video of this doing actual stacks in the landfill? I would love to see how quickly a double grabber like this could work.

We seem to be pretty stable at 10, and can should be able to carry 12 lower to the ground

Dang, that is really cool. Do you think you will be able to do this in a match?

No, we need to replace a wheel on the swerve drive, but we were able to get a 4 stack on each before it broke. We lost the key, but mechanical left already and programming didn't want to just start pulling stuff.

Could we? Yes. Will we? Unlikely. If you take the gripper as the front of the robot , we would pair the right side of the robot with the right wall, when we strafe their are only 10 totes in that direction. It would be inefficient to grab the 11th and 12th tote. We would stack the 10, then go the other direction (facing the right wall now) and grab the other 8 and stack them.
