Go to Post Just got our robot crate back. The FedEx driver told me he was watching the robotics competition online and asked how our team did. He knew about Team 27 and 469. We must be doing a great job in Michigan promoting FIRST if a FedEx driver watch FRC matches online and was excited talking about it. - Ed Law [more]

Interesting that the RC rank did not correlate very well with overall Qual rank. In the PNW, the RC consistently has a high correlation to Qual rank (and so does tote scores, but not litter or auto).
And I like your pairing of "random" and "stats". You would hope they would be mutually exclusive.

Actually, the field of statistics was developed to cope with random processes; why not try it the other way once in a while?

Re: Miscellaneous Statistics, just for fun

When I went to Davis my freshman year, 1678 was virtually unknown even in the Sacramento area. Now, less than five years later, they are number one in the world in auto, and second in the world in both RC and tote score.

You've come a long way, guys.

It appears that if you go to Mexico City, you gain super human noodle throwing capabilities.

Hmmm... is noodle throwing related to long-jumping?
