Re: Video of 2056
It seems that the feeder ramp isn't connected to the robot.
How is that legal? |

Also 4:00:00 is one of their best practice matches, best camera angle too.

Re: Video of 2056
What up with constantly comparing great teams to other great teams? To me I watch 2056 and see great potential to do something similar as 1114. They might not look as good in their first practice match but I see no reason to say they aren't near 1114. Maybe I see something different?

I agree that its a shame that a lot of the time people or teams who are great are overshadowed by "the best". I always look at it by how close that team is to "the best" and not how far away they are from them. |

Re: Video of 2056
2056 Looks to be comfortably in the 118/987/148 tier of teams. I expect continued improvement. If they do in fact have a 2 RC Autonomous, I think you can expect the overall high score to fall in Waterloo. 2056/1114 are capable of 6 Capped 6 stacks, without any help from a third alliance partner, and discounting any improvement 2056 makes through this regional and whatever improvements they each make before Waterloo.

By alternating from landfill to feeder between each stack, I bet they will find a way to do 4 stacks somewhat comfortably in a match. |

Re: Video of 2056
The biggest names? Yes. Are there other good teams? For sure. Look at 4476, two stellar first years. They may not have robots as good as 1114 and 2056, but they have a fantastic strategy for every match that in my opinion makes them rank pretty close to the two. 1114 and 2056 are just the best well known teams.

Re: Video of 2056
378 participated at GTRE with 2056, 2852, and, 3710 - the winning alliance. We were the #2 pick of the #8 seed which put us on the field the same time as the #1 alliance. When I looked at their side after the first round, I saw 6 containers on 6 stacks with at least 2 six stacks. The only reason they didn't have 7 is because we took one before 3710 could grab it. They didn't even do their 3 tote auto stack in the simis/finals. I can't imagine a better alliance than this one other then one that grabs 2+ middle containers in auto and does the same stacks. The only way to stop them is to deny them the 4 center containers and be able to use them. A handful of teams could grab the at least one center container, but could not make effective use of them in 2:15. I'm surprised there isn't more video and chatter on 2056 and this alliance. I think 2056 set a new high score in one of the qual rounds with 202 which was awesome to watch. They were amazing and 2852 was up there as well!! Everyone could have predicted the winner early Friday.
Canada has many excellent robots - we won a 2014 off season event with 610 and 1241 in Rochester, NY. |
