Re: Question: Double Ticket to Worlds teams?

Every prequalified team (CCA, last year's winner ect.) that wins an event double qualifies, in the sense that they create a wildcard. 1114 did this at GTRC.

1310 won the event and EI at GTRW 2014.

2056 won the event and Chairman's at Waterloo 2012, and the event and RAS at Waterloo 2007.

Re: Question: Double Ticket to Worlds teams?

Team 2930 this year has yet to win an event, (they haven't even made it out of quarterfinals) but they have double qualified for PNW champs by winning chairman's at the Glacier Peak district event and Engineering Inspiration at Mt Vernon district event. (they also won safety at Mt Vernon)

Thanks for the shoutout! Skunk Works has double qualified 5 times:

2007 Las Vegas Regional - Winners and RAS*
2008 Microsoft Seattle Regional - Winners and EI*
2012 Spokane Regional - Winners and RCA
2013 Seattle Regional - Winners and RCA
2014 PNW District Championship - Winners and RCA

*EI/RAS counts for double qualification, but not double banner

Re: Question: Double Ticket to Worlds teams?

We qualify two ways before the season even begins (three times actually) as a championship chairman's winner and as a legacy team.

Re: Question: Double Ticket to Worlds teams?

I'm pretty sure there haven't been any "Hat Trick" teams yet. That would be triple-qualifying at a single event, with Winner, Engineering Inspiration, and Rookie All-Star.

I'm not sure there ever will be, now that judges can choose to not give RAS. It would be curious to see. On the one hand, if there's only one rookie at the event and they're being awarded EI, it seems like they'd be shoe-in for RAS, but the judges may also consider EI to be a higher level award and not give RAS at all.

4911 came close last year with a win and EI their first time out, and RAS was given to 4915. District points also limits multiple judged awards going to the same team.

This is one of my main issues with the district system.
