I started with Pro/E and later picked up Creo, Solidworks, and Inventor (among others). Creo's interface is significantly better than Pro/E in terms of being intuitive and easy to use.

I personally find the way it sets out features and handles relations to be a lot more intuitive than Solidworks or Inventor. I find it lacking in terms of resources compared to Inventor, but significantly better in that regard compared to Solidworks. PTC also models the field and KOP natively in Creo, so you don't have any conversion stuff going on there.

What specifically are you curious about comparing them?

To be honest, if you already are set up for Inventor or Solidworks, it probably isn't worth switching away. They all provide essentially the same feature set.

Re: PTC Creo 3.0 now available for FIRST teams

Does anyone know if you need an internet connection to access the license to run Creo? It seems like I get occasional messages regarding losing the floating license if I haven't connected to the wifi yet when I fire it up at our build facility, but I don't think it ever stopped it from loading or running. We've got some redesign work to do at the regional and it would be nice to have access to our model, but we likely won't be able to access the internet at the venue.

Re: PTC Creo 3.0 now available for FIRST teams

The internet connection is only required for the licensing process. Once you have successfully installed the licensing, you do not need an active internet connection to run the software.

The splash screen contains internet content, but when not available it will use a local page instead. You should be fine working with Creo while offline.
