More "scared" of Beach Bots 330 (best local bot I've seen at 90+ pts solo by far) in terms of "scare factor"... they'll set the top bar going into Ventura. Be very impressed if 1717 can improve to around that level. Beach Bots don't like to lose more than most as evidenced with 12 Regional Championships, and their blue paint on our bot from last year. That was fun.

But they are HP loading bot..so for this discussion not a factor.

865 blew me away with their landfill prowess this weekend. Once they ironed out the bugs, they were one of the fastest landfill robots I've seen all year long; in person or on video.

Can anyone link videos of Blue Cheese in matches? I can't seem to find any videos for 2015 other than their awesome CAD video.

If you do find match videos, try to find the elimination matches of it. My brother (driver) was still getting used to the systems speed since our prototype robot was a bit slower than our final. He was really in the zone by elimination matches. One of the things we plan to improve for Chesapeake is to add a system to allow us to be stable with 6 totes at a decent speed. The only issue is our can manipulator isn't fast enough to do what we want, so we tend to rely on other team to cap and focus on stacking like a crazy. (+1 for 540 who did a fantastic job capping our alliances stack, we were so happy you were able to assemble the perfect alliance).

Part of the reason for that is that it is fully autonomous, up until this point it's been too fast for it's own good, but they finally have it to the point where they can hold onto it's stacks long enough for them to place it on the scoring platform.

Re: Best landfill bots

in the PNW, 1318 and 2471 I know are both pretty good, and my team gets better every time we play... I mean, 1114's adequate from the landfill too...

you can see the stacking ability and the intake working. This was the first time our drivers touched this robot so you can see that we were a bit too fast. We also hadn't figured out the right order to pull from the landfill.

The tools are there. By Saturday morning we had things under control.

Re: Best landfill bots

Here is the highest score at va from a different angle. You can see us clean out the right side landfill, but the stack blocks the cameras view of the left half of the landfill.
