Onshape

CAD in the Cloud!

I played with the Beta at work and its pretty awesome.

Totally useless with my slow-poke home internet.

Anyone else tried it out? The collaboration potential and ability to use on tablets seem like killer features.

Re: Onshape

I have just started playing with it as well. I am very interested in the built-in version control, and the ability to have multiple simultaneous editors and branching/merging support.

It will take some exploring to figure out if a team could work effectively with just the free version using all public documents, or if OnShape will become available free for FRC teams at some point for the professional version. It would certainly be cost-prohibitive to pay list price for the pro license for team use.

Being browser-based is advantageous in a lot of ways, but it also creates some limitations, especially for team members who use it on laptops and may not always have internet access.
