Human Player Pneumatic Noodle Launcher

Just a thought, but after looking through the manual I cannot tell if it prohibits the human player from using "devices". Can a human player bring a "pneumatic cannon" into the zone as long as it has nothing to do with the robot?

Per T21(E.6.) this might be allowed, provided it is so ineffective that it has no chance to affect the outcome of a MATCH.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

My thoughts exactly, in addition to T21.A which points at R83 which is an inspection item.

My team was joking around about this at the beginning of the season. I have now since gotten the chance to be my teams human player and (not bragging) have gotten fairly skilled at throwing noodles where most of them make it. I believe that making a cannon would be inefficient but is it really necessary if your alliance has at least one human player that can throw?

I'm surprised no one has come up with a noodle shooter -- bonus points for automatic reloading. For off-season fun, of course.

I'm thinking a long rifled pneumatic barrel should work. Another possibility is mecanum rollers, similar to team 179's "Swamp Thing" RC manipulator, but with a low grip tension.

That doesn't solve the noodle launching problem. The key to throwing pool noodles isn't throwing them fast nearly as much as throwing them so that they don't turn and get taken down by air resistance. The best noodle throwers seem to have a knack for launching the litter so that it is very nearly straight at launch, and release it with a flick that causes it to spin. Just as with a(n American) football, gyroscopic stabilization is key to long range.

An atlatl does not impart spin, and because it pushes from the rear, is more likely to induce curvature than a hand toss.

Again, we're talking about an off-season project, not something to use in this game.

Re: Human Player Pneumatic Noodle Launcher

Yes, which is why I said "For off-season fun, of course."

After watching 3 weekends worth of noodle throwing as a Field Resetter, I even had "The Science of Throwing the Noodle" paper written in my head. The "tail" of the noodle appears to have the same slow rotation as a cat tail when dropping. What would be the ideal noodle shooter?
