2015 North Bay Regional

North Bay is excited to have it's 2nd FRC Regional! Here's a few resources for anyone that might be interested:

Website: http://northbayfrcregional.ca/

Wrap-up video from last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwQM4LoZ9qI

Team list: http://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2015onnb

Webcast location: http://new.livestream.com/WatchFIRSTNow/events/3856137

I'd like to note that this year there's a very good chance we'll have another wrap-up video at closing ceremonies. All the teams seemed to really like it last year!

That wrap up video looks really good - I hope we make it into that video now that we are making the trek all the way up there!

For anyone not watching North Bay because no powerhouse teams are here. Can races live here.

Seriously, I haven't seen canburglars clash like that one match. I might be biased, but I was astounded by the level of play at North Bay.

Re: 2015 North Bay Regional

Yes, that was exciting! I fear one of the robots got damaged from that clash - the arms looked pretty dangly afterwards...

This was only my second ever regional but I had a blast! There was so much energy in the crowds, especially for the eliminations and finals. Who would have expected that stacking up boxes and garbage cans would elicit so much yelling and cheering and gasping from a completely full set of bleachers!

So great to meet so many awesome teams and people! Congrats to all the award winners, and to W.A.F.F.L.E.S. for the team spirit award win! (Y'all don't know me but I am friends with a few former members and they all had extremely fond things to say about your team! Plus, your robot and I share a name...)

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend, in a beautiful area (could have done with less snow though!)

Re: 2015 North Bay Regional

The W.A.F.F.L.E.S. had a wonderful time at the North Bay Regional. We would like to thank all the volunteers that made this event happen and especially the planning committee for making this event memorable. One of the things that you notice when you go to North Bay is that this regional is a big deal. Any restaurant or hotel you go to will know that the regional is in town, you will hear them talking about the event on the radio each morning, locals come to watch because it is the big event in North Bay. If you want to see an example of FIRST changing culture I think North Bay is a great example and a lot of that credit goes the the regional planning committee and team 1305. Congratulation to 1305 on a well deserved chairman's award, you can see their impact is clear and measurable throughout their community.

Congratulations to 4678, 1310 and 2013 on the regional win. You guys were impressive throughout playoffs and 4678 definitely has my favourite auton this year.

Thank you to 2609 and 781 for being great alliance partners. We almost made semis and are glad we could work with such great teams. Another shout out to 781 for winning EI we are happy for you and glad that even if we aren't going to champs at least our ramp will make the trip with you guys.

Re: 2015 North Bay Regional

On behalf of the Volunteers, thank you all very much for an amazing event, I know we all had a blast helping out and making sure everything ran smoothly.

I was fortunate enough to be backup Game Announcer, and you may have heard me taking over for Carter throughout the Weekend. It was my first time ever doing it, and I already can't wait to do it again next year.

Oh, and I'll be sure to post the amazing video wrap-up video Patrick Gilbert made as soon as he puts it online!

Re: 2015 North Bay Regional

Yes, I think FRC has become a part of how North Bay defines itself.

Like this video (which they played at the regional, and brought a tear to me eye):

So much fun this weekend!

BeaverworX also had a great experience again this year in North Bay, thank you 4476 and 781 for the great effort in elims!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped, the Voyager Inn Nerf warriors, Nippissing, FIRST Canada, all of North Bay and the sponsors responsible for the great event.

It was quite terrific, and I think it was really played like Recycle Rush should be played like. Most teams didn't just build their own stacks. They worked together to make stacks. I think that's what this game is really about. Once you reach that max efficiency peak, you'll be flying high.

Canburglar wise, the Hawaii 610/359 can grab was pretty intense.
