Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

Well congrats to 1806 very great showing to them, very surprised by them not picking 1296. Very impressed by how 1296 came back after the last 3 matches of Friday. Very good 2nd pick. Impressive how a 2nd pick scared scream into not can grabbing during auton. Looked like both teams were working on(or talked about working on) a three tote auto. Hope to see them for worlds! Great and intense finals!

Our bin grabber (aka "Freddy Krueger") was pretty terrifying.

Thanks, we were trying to keep thing interesting by not picking 1296, and also make sure some of our friends from Missouri earned some well deserved spots to St. Louis. 1296 really came out blazing, and we were very scared that they might just run away with it. We discussed the tug-a-war scenario, but decided that we didn't need to try to race for that RC as long as we got 2 of them. We worked on a 3 tote Auto, and while we had something that had been tested on the practice field some hardware issues were keeping it from being 100% effective by the time the regional started. We continued working on it throughout the regional, and with a new gyro hope to have it up and running for worlds.

In all fairness the two of us would have had a real struggle finding totes to score! We each did a number on those feeder station stockpiles.

In the end I think it was better for the fans. Those finals matches were real nail-biters! And to top it off all 6 finals teams have tickets to St. Louis anyways.

We came hoping for another win but we aren't disappointed with our performance. We are in the process of souping our robot up for champs and this was a chance to get some of those changes flushed out (look at our friday scores compared to saturday haha). We went from 4 5-stacks (3 with can) at Alamo to 5 5-stacks (4 with can) fairly reliably. The two things really killing us is our lack of auto and our absence of co-op points.

Awesome job to 1806, 4522, and 932 for assembling a very impressive alliance just too good to out-do.

Also thanks to 1775 and 3507 for the impressive numbers we put up aswell. (EDIT: sorry about the wrong numbers. My bad I am tired)

Congratulations to 5730 and 5006 for EI and RAS and 932 for Chairman's.
Also Congratulations to Ann Fairburn for Woodie Flower's!

We will see yall in St. Louis!

Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

What a weekend! This was our third regional this year and we are so happy that we earned our spot at the Championships.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with our friends 1806 and 932.

A huge congrats to the finalist alliance of 1775, 1296, and 3507. Those finals matches were so intense and I am glad that we put on a good show.

I was also especially proud of our other young Missouri teams who were doing so well! Congrats to 5098 for such a great competition! Congrats to 5730 on their RAS award.

Team 4959 made huge improvements as well! They were ranked 50th in KC and were an alliance captain here and also won the Judges Award!

This was a fantastic event. Congrats to all the teams and we will see you in St. Louis.

Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

Congrats 1806, 4522, and 932. We had a great time playing against you guys.

Thanks 1296 and 3507. 1296 stacks like crazy and we felt super fortunate to get a can grabber in 3507. Up close, that thing is frightening!

I also need too shout out to a number of students on my team. They got drafted into doing field reset all three days. They were also a large component of our scouting team so they were doing double duty. I'm glad they got the opportunity to experience what volunteering at an FRC event is about and hope they continue to do so in the future.

Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

Congrats to all six finalist teams, that was quite a set of matches, and it'll be fantastic to see you all (that's wonderful, qualifying six teams!) at World!

With that being said though, we certainly would not have made it like we did without the help of more than a few teams… or quite a few. 1806 was more than deserving of every compliment their team has been given, and I can't thank them enough for all the help and advice they gave us throughout the competition. 4522 is a truly fantastic team as well, and without their parts and student help we would have had a rough go. Teams 3160 and 3593 both helped us with tools, and we can't thank them enough for enabling us to do some last minute fixes.

All in all, OKC was a fantastic first regional for our team. The teams, the volunteers, and the entire weekend was incredible. A special shoutout to the lead inspector, without his advice our robot would still be six inches taller than the shipping crate

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at World this year, and our team can't wait to do for others what everyone has done for us.

Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

S.W.A.T. 1806 is thankful for so many things this weekend. We'd like to first thank all the volunteers who donate so much of their time to make these events a success. This is our 4th time at the Oklahoma City Regional and once again it was a great experience and such a well-run event.

We also must thank every team that had to play with us. Without the cooperation of these teams we wouldn't have been able to post what is now the 5th highest Max OPR of any team in the world (101.7). Match after match other teams allowed us to setup our ramp at the right feeder station, and almost gave us exclusive use of all 3 green recycling containers. This allowed us to create 3-six stacks with recycling containers and noodles on a consistent basis, and is the main reason we ended up as the top seed.

We would like to congratulate our friends and fellow Kansas City teams 4959 Millennium Falcons and 5098 STING-R along with their alliance partners 3931 The Cockadoodle Dominators. Each of these teams showed drastic improvements from their previous events. Both 3931 and 5098 were not even picked during alliance selection at their previous events, and after their performance in OKC they proved that they certainly were deserving of their spots in the playoffs. 4959 had their first experience as an alliance captain, and picking from the 5th position they were able to create a team whose average score was 3rd best in both the quarter and semifinals.

We also want to congratulate the second seeded alliance that was captained by our friends and fellow Kansas City Team, 1775 The Tigerbytes. Along with your partners 1296 Full Metal Jackets and 3507 Ubotics you created one scary good alliance. 1296 made stacks so fast that we weren’t even sure we would be able to keep up, and 3507 had a can grabber so frightening that we were forced to rethink our strategy going into the finals. We are happy that the 2 wild cards that our alliance possessed were passed along to such well deserving teams. We can’t wait to see all of you again at Worlds.

Finally we have to thank our alliance partners 4522 Team Scream, and 932 The Circuit Chargers for being so flexible and willing to work around our strategy. We met with 4522 when they invited us for dinner Thursday night at Rudy’s, and it was a great opportunity for our students and mentors to get to know each other better. We were also lucky enough to get together again on Friday night along with teams 4959 and 5098. We really enjoyed getting the chance to hang out with your teams and talk robotics, and hope to make this a regular occurrence. 932 was especially flexible when we asked that they make some significant changes to their robot in order to be able to grab recycle containers from the middle step. 932 was the big award winner of the event walking away with a Chairman’s, Industrial Safety, Entrepreneurship, and Regional Winner awards. WOW! We look up to these teams, and hope this isn’t the last time that we have the opportunity to play together this season.

I’d also like to give a shout out to an up and coming Missouri team. We were fortunate enough to have a pit next door to 5730 The Professionals. I heard from several of our mentors how great their students were, and we really look forward to competing with them in the future. Good luck to this young team.

We are looking forward to seeing all the teams at St. Louis. We are making a few more improvements to our robot, and can’t wait to see the improvements that everyone else is making. We are pretty close to having our 20 point autonomous operating at 100%, so get your can-burglars ready to go.

Also, 1806 you're welcome for "borrowing" our upside-down-triple-tote-table of doom idea. You will be recieving our invoice shortly

You and us are the only ones I have seen executing that efficient strategy.

And where did 1296 get that idea Brian? (Carrington from 1625...)

I would be totally down for a swap of one of my many 1296 shirts for a 1806 one at WCMP if you are serious. I only have a large though.
