2015 Troy District

Welcome to the FIM Troy district discussion thread. Let's take a look at some of the top teams competing this week!

2337: The EngiNERDs are ranked first out of 1 event teams in FIM. The Kettering winner has a 3 tote stack auto and impressive landfill mining capabilities. In the finals 2337 made 3 stacks and combined with with a can on top to make a 6 stack.

33: The Killer Bees are ranked second out of 1 event teams in FIM. The Southfield winners, 33 is an fast landfill miner, capable of making stacks of 5 and four bar can grabber, capable of taking RCs from the step. The Bees haven't competed since week 1 and somehow I'd be willing to bet they are not the same robot.

5167: The Vi-bots are ranked sixth out of 1 event teams in FIM. Semifinalists at Southfield, 5167 is a landfill miner with the ability to pick up 2 totes at once. Using the same mechanism, Vi-bots will also cap stacks made by alliance members. Another team with a very long break could have anything up their sleeve.

4994:The Kingston Robo-Cards are ranked eighth out of 1 event teams in FIM. Semifinalists at Kettering, 4994 is yet another landfill bot at this stacked competition. Kingston Robo-Cards creates multiple stacks of 4, and appears to have an odd long pole sticking out of the top? Canburgler maybe?

469: Las Guerrillas currently ranked 14th in FIM. Finalist at Woodhaven and Winner at St. Joesph, 469 is a ramp feed HP stacker capable of 5 stacks. They also have a very long arm for RCs, possibly capable of reaching onto the step, but for sure is used for Coop points.*

This is the first event I've seen that has more landfill robots in the top tier than HP robots. I suspect very clean landfills after many elimination matches and HP stackers to get picked in round 2.

*The only video I can find of 469 is from their first event so this might be outdated.

Our arm grabbed a can off the step a few times in the St. Joseph playoffs.

Also shown at St. Joseph was six stacks, with can and noodle

Thank you for the information, do you happen to know if any of the elimination matches at St. Joseph were recorded/will be uploaded? Coupled with the fact that I couldn't get the stream to work often, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get an accurate representation of your abilities.

Team 4961 is looking forward to the abundance of amazing landfill bots. Hopefully our human loading bot we can emerge as a great compliment for a top scoring alliance.

Something else to note about 5167, they have one of the best human players I've seen through 5 weeks of competition. He averages over 20 points a match on his own, and he hit 40 points by himself in at least one playoff match at Southfield. Don't underestimate how much of an impact he can have.

He was almost the sole reason that alliance got to the semis.

Re: 2015 Troy District

What a fantastic event!
Team 4961 would like to thank teams 247 and 3534 for joining us as the 7th seeded alliance, and were estatic with the points we were putting up.
We couldn't believe that our underdog 7th seed ended up in 3rd place, falling only behind the top 2 alliances.
Congrats to 33, 469, and 1188 on their victory, you played well.

Re: 2015 Troy District

Congrats to the winning alliance of 33, 469, and 1188. Special shout out to 33 for the Chairman's win!

I'd like to thank the field crew for a great event. No bypasses, no replays, and an extremely quick fix Friday when half the field lost power.

Surprisingly enough, we called almost as many yellow cards as we did penalties. Stop propping the chute door, seriously.

Re: 2015 Troy District

Thank you to team 469 and team 1188 for playing with us for the Win at Troy District this weekend.
It was great to play with you and we worked very well together.
Great job by all the Killer Bees Students this weekend with the Double Blue Banners.
Special thanks to Mike and Omar from CrossTheRoad Electronics for your help in solving our electronics issue in the Semifinals and thanks to the field staff and refs for giving us the time to get it figured out.
MSC is in just a few days.....it's going to be great.
