If the other alliance gets a lot of penalties for tossing stuff onto your side of the field, your score can go higher.

Also, it you pick up the litter that the other side tosses to you and use that to score in your RC's, you can send more of your litter to be unprocessed on the other side.

I assume he means if they hand you scoring materials to be used on your side - but that can also happen over the step, without penalties.

If the other alliance tosses totes or containers over the step to your side you're free to use them. I don't expect that to happen often but it adds points.

But if they happen to send scoring items your way... and you can use them... so much the better, right?
