Friendly Australians in search of batteries

Hi All

I hail from 4613 - Red Crusade from Barker College in Sydney. We are a very friendly Australian team (are all Aussies friendly?) seeking a generous team to loan us 3 or 4 batteries at the Championship in St Louis next week.

Sadly, we can't bring our own because airlines won't allow us to travel with SLA batteries over 100Wh capacity - the ones we use for first are over 200Wh.

We would be hugely grateful and can repay you in smiles, firm handshakes, thumbs up, "strewth's", "crikeys" and suggestions for wonderful places to visit when coming to Australia. Koalas and Kangaroos anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Angus

You better remind folks that you're going to need metric batteries, eh? :-)

Even if you could carry the batteries on the plane... it just makes good environmental and economic sense to avoid flying lead weights across the Pacific unless absolutely necessary!

The same logic applies to other forms of transportation.

There will be several teams located near St. Louis who are not attending the 2015 Championship as competitors, but will have members there as volunteers. Can some of those folks look into making their teams' batteries available for loan?

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Team 195 will be happy to bring two extra batteries with us for your team to borrow. Not sure what division we are in but please stop by our pit and ask for Gino or Mike.

I keep wanting to get to these threads first so I can trade a few batteries for some Tim Tams but I keep missing my chance.

I think they're special batteries anyway...they have to work upside-down or else the electrons will fall out. Must be some special circuitry in the Aussie PDPs that flip the electrons over once they come out of the battery, so they might need another PDP to work in the States.

Vegemite is more likely to be used as a chain lubricant.

Re: Friendly Australians in search of batteries

Team 191 the X-Cats would be happy to help out, assuming we haven't loaned to someone else.

We are traveling with 8.

Our machine shop mentor said FIRST should have some arrangements for international teams as well.
