This group was led in St. Louis by 1 teacher (full of heart but non-technical) and 1 freshman college student (amandabean). Sure, myself and some others helped them out... but to only give these monkeys some tips. They are self-supporting and very capable of competing in FIRST. I look forward to seeing them in Chicago when both of us will have more time to visit.
Andy,

Your comments mean a lot to this struggling rookie team. Your help in St. Lou was wonderful and it was generous of you to lend us your time. Just talking to some of your drivers and kids on your team, you can see the positive influence that FIRST has had on them. I'd be satisfied to be half the mentor you are to your kids and the FIRST community.

p.s. - See you in Chicago!

Amanda

I have to give props to all the alabama teams (except us ). they all made it into the finals.

lee high school (442) did very well considering their condition at the pre-comp. they really pulled it together and did very very well.

538 (the dragon slayers) did an amazing job all-around. nice bot, nice site, and obviously nice chairman's award. (not to mention all the raether attractive girls they had! )

547 was one of the most thrilling teams in st. louis. knocking down all 29 boxes over and over was probably one of the most entertaining things i've seen. even though they didn't seed first, i hope they do well at nat's and i hope we can see them there.

all in all, good job everyone

other teams i'd like to note on are 1020 and 967.

1020 (if they would've been able to perform the whole time) probably could've seeded very high. they could've easily taken the ramp. even though they didn't function, they kept working on their bot until it did. very nice job and i hope to see you at a later comp.

967 was one the most amazing bots i've ever seen. their powerful drivetrain and sleek design added to the great team dynamics they had. that was one of the prettiest bots in st. louis...nice job

the übergeeks and i hope to see you all in houston (we aren't competing, but we'll be there helping everyone all we can)

*jeremy
