Practice on Wednesday

We got the message that teams really want to be able to practice on the practice fields in the pits on Wednesday. So, we’re making a change to what we announced earlier. See the updated practice field policy here. Teams that have passed inspection will be able to practice, only in tethered mode, from 5PM – 8PM Wednesday on the practice fields in the pits. Teams that have not passed inspection will not be able to use either the formal or the informal practice fields in the pits on Wednesday. They will still, though, be able to go to their scheduled practice match in the dome. This will help encourage teams to get through inspection while still giving additional Wednesday practice time for teams that have a ‘little friend’ ready to unveil at Championship.*

Playoff Pits

How, exactly, are we going to fit the 256 teams that make it to playoffs in the dome? Like this:

Each of the smaller red squares is an Alliance pit, which the four teams on each of the 64 Alliances making the playoffs will need to share. It’s going to be cozy. You may want to think about what subset of tools and equipment you’ll want to bring to those alliance pits if you make it to the playoffs. Note to conspiracy theorists: The ‘P’ and ‘I’ in the circles on each of the fields just mean ‘Phone’ and ‘Internet’. As far as you know.

* For some reason, this scene from the classic movie ‘Scarface’ comes to mind.
Well that's one lass thing I have to worry about setting up on Tuesday.....
