Re: Off site: Your favorite forum software
I like vBulletin and like the features. I'm on a few other places that have Wordpress and Joomla based forums and they are a pain to use.
Not keeping track of what I've read is a real deal breaker since people won't be there every day. XenForo has a blog capability in it and I'm leaning that way.

It is a difficult balancing act - we're engineers because we like to solve problems, and to take a step back and let someone else solve it, with what may be a poorer solution, is darn hard.
