As a home observer I'm more curious as to whether the harpoon platforms also winched the cans in, or if it was more of a "Noone uses these cans, you have to outstack us" nuclear option for finals?

We thought it was the latter but apprently there is a winch on them.

There was an incorporated winch... But no way to remove the harpoons from the cans that I could see, short of brute force. I'm pretty sure it was a purely defensive live-action designed to ensure the other alliance did not get the cans and had to stack perfectly.
