Re: Newton Division 2015

Congratulations to 118, 1678, 1671, and 5012 on winning Newton!!

We have had the pleasure of competing with an against 3 out of 4 of these teams this year (sorry Griffengear, you were not included, I'm sure it would have been exciting).
I can say from personal experience, all of these teams are a CLASS ACT!! I wish you well on Einstein!

Re: Newton Division 2015

Wow those were some exciting matches. I was rooting for you guys from the beginning. The Newton team comes from behind and outscores the Curie juggernaut by 1 piece of litter, then soundly defeats the Hopper team by can burgling and executing perfection. When I saw Wave Robotics machine with 3 cans and the yellow totes my mouth dropped.

Playing against these three teams during regional play I couldn't figure out how Team 1671 got on the #1 alliance. They are really one of the best stackers of all the robots this year. I know Mike C just jumped for joy after the second to the last pick when he saw the Bird Brains were still left. Key pick and that propels the Newton gang to be World Champions.

Congrats you guys great robots, great teams, great showing.

Special Congrats to Mike C. Awesome dude!!!

Re: Newton Division 2015

Had the pleasure of flying out of ST. Louis with the Circuits. Mike C. was totally horse. In case you failed to notice: THERE WERE THREE CALIFORNIA TEAMS ON the WINNING ALLIANCE (oh yeah and a NASA House team from Texas.) Team 5027 is grateful to 1678 and 254 for picking us as your can burglar at SVR. We never thought we get to Champs, but you made our dream come true. We'd also like to thank 1918 and 3310 for going head to head with us in Can Tug-o-War. The full 2 minute Teleop battle with 3310 has to be our proudest moment in 5027 team history.

Re: Newton Division 2015

Does anyone have any video footage of qualification match #46 in Newton? Our robot flipped and we were able to right ourselves again using our pick up arm. We had never flipped before so we never tested righting. First time trying was in this match! We want to collect as much footage as possible for some kind of montage.

Re: Newton Division 2015

FRC 2468 would like to extend our Appreciation to:

- #3 Alliance Captains FRC 3130 the Errors for choosing us as your number one pick for eliminations. You were an excellent team captain and put together a very strong alliance.

- FRC 3310 Blackhawk Robotics - It was great to be on the field in eliminations with you again after Hub City. Maybe the most consistent can burglar in FRC this year (and as Kris Verdeyen, Newton MC, said it kicked off the Manhattan projects of Can Burglars) provided us extra containers every match. And a big congrats in the Control award. I have to agree with my wife, this machine needs sounds that coordinates with the movement of the arm.

- FRC 537 Charger Robotics for allowing our alliance to cheesecake them if it was needed and for providing a solid human player in the matches.

We would like to extend our congratulations to:

-#Newtonwinners and #Einsteinwinners of FRC 118 Robonauts, FRC 1678 Citrus Circuits, FRC 1671 Buchanan Bird Brains and FRC 5012 Gryffingear. The elimination matches in our division were exciting to watch. You put up an average of 249.9 points per match in Newton elimination matches with a high of 256 and a low of 238 - what an example of consistency and performing at the right time.

- FRC !95 Cyber Knights on your #2 alliance captainship and for your well deserved Engineering Inspiration award. You provide a shining example for what FRC teams should strive to be.

As a coach/mentor, I cannot begin to express how much fun it was to get to compete with all the other teams in Newton. It was great to get compete with our #TeamTexas teams (FRC 118, FRC 2158 and FRC 3310) as well getting to know so many new teams from FRC.

Thanks goes out to FRC 1477 Texas Torque http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...=trading+cards for the Team Trading cards you provided for all the Texas Teams at Champs this year. The cards were a big hit and looked so professional. I think FIRST, FRC Regional Directors or teams need to look more into this idea. It provides a very clear professional standard to share about your team and program.

Thanks to all the volunteers, judges, referees, field reset and team queue volunteers for you dedication and time. It would not have happened without you.

IMHO that was the second most exciting match on Newton Ditto on video coverage, I desperately want to see match #78 a couple of dozen times again.

78 Fri 4/24 - 10:34 AM 5027 5479 3467|3310 3464 5418 | 74 2

Our tug-of-war resulted in a 74 - 2 score - not good for qualifying, but we were auditioning for elimination. It turns out both drivers were trying to let go of that can, but letting go was not considered as design priority.

195 had an awesome time at your side. This was a GREAT alliance!

118, 1678, 1671 and 5012 deserve all our congratulations and respect. It was an honor being on the field with you. An Einstein win that was well deserved! You are all amazing!
