Sehome Seamonsters Championship Wrap Video

FRC Team 2605

We went to Champs for the first time this year, and we were all caught dumbfounded by the amazing experience. A junior on our team made this video, and it totally captures our experience, which again was an experience, not a competition. We learned a ton, from conferences (Yay Karthik!!) , and from talking to teams from around the country and the world. We took part in something that our team will never forget. The unity between teams, even between divisions, the Faire, the awesome people there, left me speechless. Well, here is a pretty neutral video that sums that all up, and I had no input on its creation.

Kudos to Eddie Ponce, you are a genius. (He also made the Seamonsters Logo in the final frame)

Thanks Chief, please watch this video, I really do love it.

Zach

P.S. Lets go PNW!! 3663 CPR, 4488 Shockwave, Bear Metal 2046, 1318 IRS and NRG 948 were soooooo close to moving on!! Also thanks to 2907 for superior friendliness, and to 399 for great leadership advice, and shoutout to 1678, who has a team member who moved from our team last year! #causeandeffect #justkidding

P.P.S. Other teams who have experience with using this sort of publicity (Not specifically this video, but the cred we get at our public school) what would you advise? We already have a lot planned, from school outreach to the town's paper, but we are always open for more ideas.

First, Congrats on going to CMP, great video, and go PNW!

For us, we really wanted to get outreach and sponsors this year, so we went to City Hall at their most recent meeting and introduced ourselves there, get our name out and such. Not even a week later we have volunteer items coming from the board for us!

Always get in good with a local reporter. For the past three years we have had the local newspaper for our area interview us any chance we could get one, and we actually made the front page of the website just after the DCMP! Also, get some airtime with a local news station, like KING5 (i know thats in your area) or NWCN is a great way to spread your team and FIRST (that video would be cool for people to see too!)

Hosting open drive sessions for middle schoolers is a great way to get them interested, or you can go to open houses at the schools or freshman orientation to get them interested in STEM and robotics. (We got about 10 people to sign up that are incoming freshman, and that is HUGE for us.)

If you have a website, post it there. If not, GET ONE! Its a good way to show friends, family, sponsors, and randoms about you and FIRST! Social media is also really great to have, it can be used to show off team spirit, keep track of rankings during events for people who cant watch, or just show who you are in quick little pictures and blurbs that arent really meant for a professional website.

Thank you Mikal!

That actually reminded me to contact Cascade Radio Group, we have a connection that will be very valuable.

Make sure to include 2557 SOTAbots and 4061 Sciborgs..... The Sciborgs are from the other side of the State, but still from Washington.

Great video - Thank you for posting. Congratulations on your first trip to the Championships!!!

Re: Sehome Seamonsters Championship Wrap Video

The video was really cool and I'd like to say thanks to the Seamonsters for being such a fun team all year. Your guy's mascot is full of energy and your team was amazing. It was fun being your partners this year and we were rooting for you guys on Archimedes.
