Re: IRI Application List
There is probably a lot of thought and that goes into making the acceptance list for IRI. They could give an eta on when it could be done but they probably want to make sure it is right, and I don't think anyone is getting paid to do this. So I am assuming that there is a lot of extra time and dedication being put in right now to making this list.

Re: IRI Application List
Hey, IRI committee, the suspense is killing me. Your making this entirely to hard and time consuming. Get a pack or 2 of small index cards. Write the team numbers on them. Pick the top 30 OPR teams. Put them to the side. Take the remaining cards over to the stairs and throw them towards the top. Then take the top 30 OPR cards. Starting at the top of the stairs pick up cards from the top down until you have as many teams as you want to invite. This can be over and done with in an hour or less. You can post the results tonight.

That feeling when you're more excited for the IRI acceptance list than college acceptance letters...

Re: IRI Application List
I did not mean for my post to be take negatively. I looked at the application list and can objectively fill about 1/2 the slots. Below there, the choices become extremely hard. I don't know how to do it. Which led to my conclusion that hell you might as well throw the cards up the stairs. So after the list is released , it would be just as interesting to here from the committee just how they approached this humongous problem.

Re: IRI Application List
You know, the IRI committee can solve the selection process with an IRIsplit.

Re: IRI Application List
R2OC is the week after IRI. They just need to change the name to IRI (Illinois Robotics Invitational)

Re: IRI Application List
The Invitation List is posted in another thread.
I won't go into much detail about the "process", except to say we look at Regional / District performance, through-season improvement, CHP performance, draft order, event rankings, other data and uniqueness. The only guaranteed spots each year are the previous year winning alliance and the SIlent Auction spots. The Host Teams are evaluated against the same criteria as all others and are not guaranteed a spot. |
