Safety Captain and Safety Tests

Hi everyone, some feedback would be much appreciated.

I am the team captain of 2015 rookie team 5418, The Sonic Screwdrivers, and am looking for some advice for our safety program and such.

Our current Safety Captain just contacted me about making a sort of "tool safety quiz", and wants me to make a list of every single tool we've ever used, and that we have. Keep in mind, that is *a lot* of tools.

We'd discussed having safety quizzes over basic safety such as safety glasses, closed-toe shoes, the basics. Is there anything your teams do that really stands out?

We've gotten much advice from other teams at our regional and in St.Louis (thank you, Rookie All-Star Award), however, she [our safety captain] seems to want to do things her own way, and not involve the team very much in her decisions.

I'm not bashing her in any way, shape, or form, she's done a great job with most things. But as a rookie team, I want us to keep our options open for many different things we could do.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Safety Captain and Safety Tests

Our team requires rookies to take a safety test before we let them work in the shop/use the corresponding machine. It's fairly rudimentary, and it occasionally breaks, but feel free to take a look.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I like the setup and how user-friendly it is.
