How many cylinders?
The Yahoo board says 7.
Common sense says 5. Only 4 custom cylinders can be ordered. So...what's the total you can have on the robot?? FIRST officials must browse this board, so what's the straight answer. Grrr...the vagueness and misinformation of the answer(s) to this question is beginning to annoy. --Ben Mitchell |

Well you get three in the kit, plus 4 custom ordered.
Our team only got 1 in the kit so I am trying to get the other 2, I e-mailed tammy@usfirst.org and havnt received a response. Perhaps I have to try again. |

You don't get three pistons in the kit, you get one piston and two accumulators.

on the "cylinders" question;
I have asked the FRCtech2002 types to differentiate between cylindrical 'actuators' and cylindrical 'reservoirs' in hopes of finding out what was meant, in fact, by "3 cylinders in the kit", and "7 cylinders on the robot". on the kit front; In the revised Kit list, we were to receive 2 'reservoirs' (Clippard) and 1 'actuator' (Bimba, I believe). |

So we were only supposed to get 1 pneumatic piston?
I'm VERY confused |

The last post I read on yahoo says that we can order 4 custom cylinders and we have one in the kit so I think 5 is the answer. I just read this post today!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FRCtech2002/message/334 There you have it the answer is 5 and will be only 5! ![]() |

If you count the accumulators, that gives you seven (7).

The newest answer is '5' this is a correction to all previous posts on Yahoo that said 7. For some reason they had people thinking the accumulators were cylinders. I think there are some angry people with this new number and rightly so. The answers need to be thought out and posted correctly at this stage of the game!!!!!

5 is 5... ...let's move on...
5 is the answer. Of course we would have liked the answer to be 7 but it is not 7. It would have been good to have been the same answer from the beginning regardless of final number. Ah well.
Everyone will have to adjust their plans. At least it is clear now. Let's move on. Joe J. |

Thank You!
Dr. Joe, one again you get the final word. 5 it is, and it had better be enough! Thank you all for the help, gleaning info from yahoo is like 15th century dentistry. --Ben Mitchell |
