Help replacing broken leadscrew (2015 First Choice item)

In an off season event today we snapped (!) one of four matching leadscrews on our robot's stacker. The screw was an AndyMark First Choice 2015 item (http://firstchoicebyandymark.com/fc15-020) but isn' t available through them now. Does anyone happen to have one lying around they'd be willing to part with for fair market value?

We're not really interested in re-engineering for different or non-matching hardware since this machine has only one more off season event scheduled before being put out to exhibition-only pasture.

We have spoken to the manufacturer (Haydon Kerk), and they don't sell small scale, but directed us to McMaster-Carr. MMC does have matching material, but only in 72 inch lengths (we need 18") at $157, again kind of steep for an about-to-be-retired robot. That will be the fallback plan, though. We can always salt the rest away for possible future use.

Their page says out of stock, but I guess it never hurts to ask again, so I just dropped them an email.

Re: Help replacing broken leadscrew (2015 First Choice item)

I think we have those in our workshop... I'd have to go check. Is it actually silver? I remember seeing silver and black ones from the Kit the past few seasons. Not sure if they're the same thing.

Does 2077 need the nut too, or just the lead screw stock?

might be another option. You could get a 3' length.

Re: Help replacing broken leadscrew (2015 First Choice item)

Our team purchased our nuts and lead screws from the Haydon Kerk Express website. We had no problem ordering 2 nuts and a 36" lead screw at a reasonable price.

I looked up the one you need in particular and it appears you can purchase a 24" length at this link for $51.

It never hurts to ask, indeed. We heard back from AM and they said they had one.

These are actually a rather unusual item, with a thread profile "similar to, but not compatible with" Acme threads, and a high-speed 5-start 1" per turn lead.

So pending actually closing the deal with AM, it looks like we're all fixed up. Thanks to everyone for the assistance. AM and CD to the rescue once again!
