Go to Post when I was a ball setter at PARC one year (6th grade?). As soon as I saw what High school students could do with thier own two hands and how they mingled with industry, I knew, at that moment, it was for me. - henryBsick [more]

Re: 2015 Chairman's Award Winners

I admire all teams that win this award and the work they do to achieve this honor. However could it be that some are just sustaining an excellent existing program? Other teams may make huge strides but can’t achieve what some of these winners have built over time. Perhaps a, “ what did you do new this year” question, should be part of the judgement .

That question is part of the judgement but at the same time you have to watch for sustainability.

Quoted from the manual and bolded for emphasis.

Quote:
■Describe the impact of the FIRST program on team participants with special emphasis on the current season and the preceding
two to five years
■ Describe the impact of the FIRST program on your community with special emphasis on the current season and the preceding
two to five years
I interpret that to mean new initiatives.

Also before they removed the feedback sheet was one of the main categories that teams needed to show new initiatives for that year to have a strong submission. We plateaued for a little bit in 2013 in terms of initiative and the feedback sheet telling us that was a big boon; we strived to add new outreach add events for the past two years and that has kept our submission strong.

Hey! I see you've got TnT on the list and the info's all correct (sorry, I don't have the number of submissions for the competition) and thank you for putting this list together!

We're counting submissions this season, not total submissions ever.

Thank you everybody who has contributed so far! Your help has made this a lot easier than it otherwise would have been!

We've definitely seen this - as a team that's won often in the past, the judges are constantly asking us 'what's new this year?'

It was noticed and we were grateful for that. Thanks.

Fun fact we put French subtitles on the hard copy of the video that we submitted to the judges so that all of the people could understand the video in their native language at the Montreal Regional.

Re: 2015 Chairman's Award Winners

If anyone has data for the number of teams submitting at an event, it would be great if you could either PM me or comment it on the spreadsheet - it's an interesting stat to have.

Re: 2015 Chairman's Award Winners

NE District is fully completed on the spread sheet with all the needed information. We are missing a couple video links but other then that everything else is fully written in the spread sheet.

Re: 2015 Chairman's Award Winners

I realize it's been a few months and this spreadsheet isn't getting much traffic anymore, but I realized I never thanked all the people who made this possible-- so thank you, Brendan, Karthik, and Jacob, for editing and adding information throughout the season. Thank you as well to all the anonymous contributors and commenters who added information or corrected us. The FRC community is a great one, and stuff even as minor as this reminds us of that sometimes.
