ROBOTICON 2015 Update

Registration is open for ROBOTICON 2015 through Sept 3 at http://goo.gl/forms/VJk2VwvMC0 . ROBOTICON is one of three Florida off-seasons this year, and we're collaborating to offer discounts for registering for one or more of the events, to encourage more off-season practice and learning, and to help build greater support and awareness of FIRST in Florida and everywhere!

We can accommodate up to 8 more teams at ROBOTICON. (See current list here: http://roboticon.net/teams/) Participating teams can also take part in the Annual ROBOTICON Challenge, sponsored by Boca Bearing Company, with prize packs valued at $150 for 3 winning teams. ROBOTICON is a two day event, with a Sunday "Competition Only" registration option for $75.

Saturday, October 10th, we'll have a full day of workshops and training in everything from team marketing and development, to competition readiness, CAD, programming, electrical and more, along with field practice. We're also holding a FIRST Meet & Greet for area businesses and schools, to help raise FIRST awareness and encourage support for FIRST mentoring, volunteering and sponsorship for teams and events. We'll also have an expo hall with academic and career exhibits.

On Sunday, October 11th, we'll hold a full day of competition, and the expo hall will be turned into a Team Vendor Hall, where teams can set up tables for fundraising sales throughout the day. (More info on that soon) This is a well publicized event, drawing hundreds of local guests, and a great opportunity to showcase FIRST in the community.

Off-season events are a great way to get in practice and training for both new and veteran teams, to help you hit the ground running with the new season kicks off. They're also a great way to help raise visibility and awareness about FIRST.

Hotel info for ROBOTICON will be posted this week. Out of State teams are welcome! Tampa Bay is lovely in October!

Thanks, and Go Teams!
