Are You Ready?

Initial event registration is just over one week away! FIRST HQ is buzzing with activity in preparation, and the excitement is building. We want to make sure the teams, also, are ‘green to go’ for the big day!

When you first log into TIMS, if you have not yet logged in for the season, you will be asked to accept Terms and Conditions before you can proceed. Also, if you were not screened under the Youth Protection Policy (YPP) last year, you will be taken through the screening process. After this, and on subsequent visits to TIMS, you will be taken to the ‘My FRC Dashboard’ screen. On that screen, you will see a section that looks like this, but with your team number and name filled in:

Click on the ‘Team Summary’ button, which is likely highlighted with a color background.

Take a look at the FRC Team Profile section, on the Team Summary page, of a ‘green to go’ team in TIMS below. The illustration below is from a test team.

As noted at the top of the section of the Team Summary page, all of these elements must be completed before you can register for your initial event. This area also shows the Youth Protection Program (YPP) certification status of the main and alternate contact. If you have a black ‘X’ that looks something like this: in ANY of the Status areas above, you will not be able to register for your first event until you are showing the friendly green checks. The good news in the Team Information and Organization sections is that if you are showing a black ‘X’, you can correct that yourself right away. Click the buttons next to them to add the necessary information.

On the YPP (Passed) section, you can see if your main and alternate contacts have been YPP certified. The full process, as we have said before, can take a few days. Please start the process immediately if you have not been certified for YPP, and if your fellow mentor on the team has not yet passed, please contact that individual to make sure they have started the process. The process can be initiated once you have filled out the profile page when you logon to TIMS.
