anitgravity

I can't wait till FIRST starts giving anti-gravity kits inside the kit of parts. the rules could then say that your robot had to have no weight. would make things interesting...

Me, I'm looking forward to the Quantum Entangler that will let us teleport across the field. Calculating the vectors with a Stamp might be a trick though...

Once some team has made a hovercraft-like robot for competition, then maybe, just maybe, we'll see an a-grav kit or a quantum whatchamacallit. Actually, it'd be kinda cool to have a field on 3 dimensions.

Have any of you played WestWoods Comand and Counqure computer game? If you have, bring the orca fighter into mind. For everyone else who arent the sticlers for thes useless facts, the orca uses 2 large turbo-fan engines for thrust, pitch, yaw,a nd the other one i cant seem to rember right now, lol, and a smaller one in the tail to help keep its airborne balance. But getting back onto topic here, imagine if you made a robot that operated just like that, imagine if first made a air competition. That would definietly make things interesting. There are pleantly of new games that can be made without making the hazardous trip into Quantum Mechanics, and trust me on this, that stuff would need a cray computer strapped to each robot to work, and frankly, who would want to build one?

Well, hate to burst the bubble, but if you recall, it was proven last month (or was it January) that gravity is not a force, and definately can't be countered, (well, without a lot of shrinking that is). It was proven that there is a constant expansion of the univers that causes gravity, thus thing simply getting closer, and exerting forces when they meet. Thus gravity is as real a force as energy or centrifugal force; we can only use it for bookkeeping now.

I think I'll just rely on my improbability drive thank you very much... wait wait no, I forgot, I have my new bistromathics drive! I can control my robot without turning the opposing alliance into a giant roll of 10 gauge wire! (even though i could win with that...) sorry, enough hhgttg reference...

Indeed. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is 42. Earth is a computer. What's this thing? I think I'll call it... ound... round... ground! That's it! Ground! That's a good name for it. I wonder if it's friendly? I wonder if--

Rail gun & Tesla Coil

Does anyone else want a railgun and Tesla coil in the kit. The railgun slug would be tethered of course. These components wouldnt be used for anything ungracious. I just want to show the static electricity on top of the ramp who is boss. Also the bins have been getting a little uppity. U have to admit, firing a superconducting railgun at the wall of boxes would be cool, and the indoor sonic boom would be nice and loud.

hmmm

it has been brought to my attention that i keep posting right after the lucas, and i can't help it, he's so trendy. but i think the antigravity would be an excellent idea, as long as i can train pigeons to run my robot and have hampsters on wheels power it. also the rail gun is an excellent idea as well, the sonic boom would go along marvelously with 'who let the dogs out' and 'we will rock you'. has anyone thought about tethering the photons that are emitted from our lights? they leave excessive debris. and it is definitely intentional.

Hey Dave what about the "Monkey with hammer deploy". We never got to use that button last year.

if you had a startrek transporter, you could spend the entire round sitting in the starting box, then, in the last second, beam the bots and the boxes into the optimal scoring positions in the zones and/or on the ramp

that way you could calculate your score in advance, and get the highest score possible with the whole 2xopponents thing

Though it is after the season, let's not forget Towel Day , May 25th. Kind of a shame it doesn't fall in the season - it would be interesting to see how many towels would show up a regionals...
