am-0915a to Banebots 1/2 hex question

Hi,

Our team is looking on using our am-0915a gear motors directly mounted to intake wheels. The issue we're finding is that the 0915a outputs to a 10mm keyed shaft the the banebots wheels we're looking at accept a 1/2" hex input. Normally this wouldn't be an issue as there are plenty of 4mm, 8mm, and 12mm to 1/2" hex converters but I haven't found any 10mm adapters. Has anyone else faced this challenge with their intakes yet? Thanks

Re: am-0915a to Banebots 1/2 hex question

If you're set on direct driving, I'd see if you can find a 1/2" keyed version of the wheel and use this adapter: http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-0996.htm. Banebot discontinued them but I'm sure there's a few floating around on the internet.

We're planning on buying these banebots wheels but if anyone can find some banebots compatible with your solution, we'd opt for those instead.

Re: am-0915a to Banebots 1/2 hex question

Hhm, someone may have a better solution but you could try this adapter from RobotShop:
http://www.robotshop.com/en/hex-hub-...5in-2wide.html

3/8 in. diameter comes to about 9.5 mm. If you have something able to press it on tightly you may be able to get the shaft in. Or if you can turn the size of the shaft down slightly, you'll be set. If you manage that you may need to shave down the key as well but you'll have to see.

Not ideal, but I think it is doable.

EDIT:
I think these are actually 3/4 in. Hex, not 1/2 Hex. See the section "Specification" lower down on the linked page.

Would also have to re broach the keyway to 4mm as well

I would just buy the motor separately and then use a vp with a 1/2 hex.
