1. 234 (barely above 135. We've been pretty tight all year) 2. 135 3. 5188 4. 1501 5. 1024 6. 829 7. 1741 8. 1747 9. 3940 10. 4485 11. 5403 12. 461 Alliances- (Captain and First Pick Only) (W) 1.) 234-1024 (As always. Some unamed students on 234 refer to 1024 as "bae") (F) 2.) 135-5188 (135 needs some extra step cans) (S) 3.) 1501-5403 (1501 and 5403 could use some step cans) (Q) 4.) 829-3940 (3940 is a good stacker and 829's landfill or HP is helpful) (S) 5.) 1741-1747 (1747 is a super good stacker and 1741 is a really good capper) (Q)6.) 4485-3176 (4485 has been good at Hp and decided to go landfill early rather than scramble last second) (Q) 7.) 461-447 (461 decided to go landfill early) (Q) 8.) 868-1529 (868 can cap (if I remember right) and 1529 is a fast stacker. Re: CAGE Match VIII
I think that the landfill bots will be the first picks on almost every alliance. I say almost because there are not enough landfill bots to go around

Re: CAGE Match VIII
That might be true but almost all landfill bots coming aren't nearly as powerful as human player bots. If we end up 1st seed, we have to ask ourselves this question. Do we want to get an amazing human player bot and then get another not so good human player bot and make them try to play the landfill or, do we want an okay landfill bot and have a not so good hp bot? Either way, the last pick for the first few alliances won't be able to stack much. So it makes more sense to go with whichever robot is best, human player or landfill. That's what we did at CORI offseason and we ended up winning. It will be interested to see how picks go with such a tight field.

Re: CAGE Match VIII
Being an event happening during the next school year after the robots were built, several teams will not have the same drive team.
Being an event that is touted as a "rookie experience" several teams will not have the same drive team. Being an event with pre-rookie teams, not every drive team will have ever competed. These, plus wear + tear + modifications means several robots will not perform the same as they did during the season. Predictions might be fun, but are kind of meaningless since so much will have changed compared to in-season competitions. I'm looking forward to CAGE Match for all the new and fun experiences the students will have. |

Re: CAGE Match VIII
This most always is the case for 1501. We come to CAGE to show rookie kids what FRC is about.

Re: CAGE Match VIII
2 of our main 3 drivers are still around. 3 of 4 drivers are still around that had regular season driving. And 5 of 6 drivers are still around that have had some off season driving experience at a competition. As a team, we just excepted 20 some new members this last Monday. This will be a good time to train new members how to scout (despite not having our new scouting equipment) what we do at competitions. I find the fall off season events to be cool for those reasons.

Re: CAGE Match VIII
As scout captain of 234, It sounds like I should train some of the rookie members to scout this week... If there is a webcast (Is it bad I'm not sure if there is a webcast? lol.) yo bet I'll be scouting from home... haha. or maybe volunteer and scout in my mind... The possibilities are endless! Can you tell it's been a couple months since I've scouted and I really want to...? haha

Re: CAGE Match VIII
Run through qualifying matches from a season event (or even better, an event that played something other than Recycle Rush). 2015 Dallas and 2014 Waterloo are good regional ones to watch. The new scouts you get can pretend to field scout the regional. We did this last year to test out our electronic scouting system and train our scouts, and it was a big success.
