most crowded regional

what do you guys think is the most crowded regional , this can in clude overall crowdness , or crowdness in the pits.etc...
for me personally it would have to be the Mid atlantic, the pits are like annoyingly crowded, there is no room! it sucks. everyone is so bunched up together. arghhh! also if you wana scope out a quick match near the front of the field ( right be hind the judges table) you cant cause its waayyyyyyy to crowded their too. its like you have to go the the top level to watch a match. annapolis on the other hand felt more free and open, and i thought that added to the enjoyment of that regional.

Here at Great Lakes, we've got 68 teams spread across 3 pit areas. The pits aren't extremely crowded, but a little tight...except for the lucky few that got into pit #3...

The Mid-Atlantic is moving to a HUGE venue, compared to last year.

It should be much cooler, less smelly, and more spread out this year. (I hope)

The Philadelphia Alliance, which is held at Drexel University, is pretty tight. There 44 teams packed into a pit area which is about the size of three basketball courts. The stands get really crowded on Fridays. They are not that large and there are many local team that bring their whole team, plus a lot of parents and friends that show up.

The playing field is in the middle of the arena and then food/first aid is on the other side of the playing filed. I think they should move the food somewhere else and give us more pit space.

The big problem is that there is rarely space to practice. Don't get me wrong I like the venue. It is on a college campus and there are lots of places to go nearby. I just think they could do a better job using the existing space. Maybe they could set up the concessions across the street at the Armory building.

I was just recently at Annapolis an the aisles in the pits were HUGE. You could easily get around in the pits is was great. If there were really big crowds seating could have been a problem.

At St. Louis there were only 55 teams, but the pits were extremely crowded and there was basically only one entrance/exit to the pits (other than the que lines). It was so crowded that some teams had problems with people waking through their pit to navigate the pit area. I think that the venue operation should be rethought for next year.

The pits at Annapolis were great: there was enough space for a practice minifield, and huge lanes between aisles. We had lots of room to maneuver our robot to and from matches, and plenty of room for people to work.

If the pits at the J&J are half as good as Annapolis, I'd be pretty happy.

What happened to the location of the 1999 Philly regional? I recall it wasn't in the nicest area but the facility was huge... everyone could get an outstanding view of the field. I still think that was the nicest regional location I've been to, with the exception of the Hershey Center in Canada.

The Naval Academy's arena was much better than that of Canada's... It was bulit for a track so the space was a bit larger. Plus, as it wasn't a hockeyfield, there also weren't exits at odd intervals and there was lots of free space around the edges of the pits which left room for a field on one side.

Plus, I like the fact the outdoor scenery was nice Great regional.

The only regional I've ever been to is the Sacramento one. And it was small. Only 27 teams. It was anything but crowded there.
I'd like to see a crowded regional though...

The venue for sacramento itself wasnt all that great, pretty much a warehouse for the pits, and a event center type place for the field, but the pits were great, tons of space, and a concrete floor, so no worrying about messes.

UCF had pits outside, and it rained a lot during that time. Water got everywhere in the pits, and it caused major problems. So in effect, I say UCF was crowded. They should find another area to place them.
