Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
I have two favorite moments from this year.
First is the Tech Valley Regional Alliance selections, where we managed to take an alliance that was making 2 capped stacks on paper to making 4+, riding a wave of crazy luck and upsets to the finals. Second is the Carson Division finals, where our Alliance made Einstein through another wave of crazy luck, managing to make Einstein without a landfill robot. The moment when 3339 got the final can from the step before 225 could grab it was incredible, and being able to make Einstein for our team's first time in our 24 year history was incredible. It was a lucky year for 20. At both of those events, we worked with 5254 quite a bit, forming an awesome friendship between the teams. |

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
Not having to inspect bumpers would be one of my favorites. [insert grumbling about bumpers returning next year here]
Also having to turn a rookie team back because they were the first ones to arrive in the pits--before the doors were officially open for dropoff. The inspectors asked them to wait outside for a few minutes--then they were one of the first teams through the doors. Another favorite: The look on the faces of a (different) rookie team on being informed that the award they had won qualified them for the Championship, and they would need to re-bag their robot and build a crate... Apparently they hadn't processed that part of "hey, we won Rookie All-Star!" yet. |

Favorite moment? Hearing a lot of experienced teams GROAN at kickoff when the particulars sunk in. I love taking teams out of their comfort zone.

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
Listening to our drive team's reaction when they announced that there would be no bumpers this year was a pretty great highlight.

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
One of my favorite moments from this year is Carson SF6, where we scored 2 step totes. We practiced a lot to be able to do that for 4 points

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
This was one our favorites, from the PNW District Championships.
We called it 'At the Buzzer'. Our drive team for #948 wanted to get one more tote, which had those of us in the stands holding our breath..... Seeing the excitement of the drive team was priceless..... https://youtu.be/Rje_15SWMIE?list=PL...ZT0A_P6LASx5W3 |

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
Nope. It was with 246 and 3946. Team 246 had this arm that reached over the RC and stacked all three Yellow Totes during Auto. It was wicked fast and was fun to watch.
We then took the stack to the middle and placed them on a three stack that was already there from the other side. |

Re: Favorite moments from Recycle Rush
Honestly I think the coolest moments from Recycle Rush are the cool tote sculptures the volunteers made this year. In particular the Tote castle with the working drawbridge made in FiM.
