Will SolidWorks run on a rMBP?

I want to know if it is worth installing SolidWorks on my macbook pro (late 2013). I'm not sure if the integrated graphics will allow it to run smoothly.

Re: Will SolidWorks run on a rMBP?

I have it on mine and it runs fine, not lagging much with less than a few hundred parts in an assembly.

Re: Will SolidWorks run on a rMBP?

It should run just fine for FRC sized stuff. Make sure you have the latest intel graphics drivers.

Re: Will SolidWorks run on a rMBP?

I assume you are using Boot Camp and not virtualization?

I have a mid 2012 MBP and it still runs great. My biggest tip is to make sure you use Bootcamp and not something like Parallels because it's harder to run CAD and 2 OSs.

No problem with a 2013 rMBP running SolidWorks on Boot Camp, with 8GB RAM.

Re: Will SolidWorks run on a rMBP?

I have a Mid-2011 and it worked okay at best a couple years ago. Last year I upgraded to a Dell Precision and it's been fantastic. The biggest issue I had was dealing with integrated graphics. I did increase the memory to either 4GB or 8GB (can't remember now) as well.
