Sidenote: the commercials aired during Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls, which are popular among older (think high school aged) viewers (compared to other Disney shows), so that's good placement on Disney's part.
High School students watching Phineas and Ferb?

I would say its closer to elementary/middle which is where a vex iq or Meccano kit would make sense.

Regardless it is still cool. I cut the cable personally so it would be cool if there were some YouTube/hulu commercials.

As a mentor closer to retirement than high school I think P&F was a fantastically well thought out and presented show.

Good story telling and animation know no age limits.
