I have to presume that this is a twist on "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. My favorite quote from this seminal work on competition resonates both in my job working at the Naval Oceanographic Office and as an FRC mentor:

Just when my team was planning on using a retroreflective target on our banner to determine robot field position.
