Re: Decent CAD laptops under $1000
Many offerings with discrete graphics on sale from Lenovo right now:
Y50: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops...01C9:000166DC: Y50 touch: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops...01C9:00015885: Y50 4K UHD: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops...01C9:00015884: U31: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops...#tab-customize And this one from Acer (probably the best all-around value, spec-wise at the moment) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834315131 Note, I have no first-hand experience with any of these. EDIT: Here's one more, from Asus. Compared to the ones above, this one has an SSD. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...aa369323960000 Last edited by sanddrag : 31-12-2015 at 16:34. |

Re: Decent CAD laptops under $1000
I use an Alienware 17 R3 for cad. One small glitch with Solidworks is that the icons are extremely minuscule. This doesn't happen with composer or electrical, though.
What I'm trying to say is, be mindful when considering the resolution of the display. I've looked into how to fix the problem but haven't tried any of the ways I've found, so I don't know if they work. Last edited by maxnz : 03-01-2016 at 22:29. |
