Team Spirit

Hey guys! I'm kind of in charge of team spirit right now, and I was wondering, what kind of in-school spirit days do your teams do? Like wearing things to school, that sort of thing. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm the only one out of a school of 2,400 that's on the team...Since the team it at another school. But I have my own personal team spirit days. I just wear my full uniform (including safety glasses) to school.

their are 2 girls on our team who are really into team spirit, they are part of that thing in school where you spin the fake guns, i think one of their names are kiwi_queen
they make alota banners and what not, and one of them blows this shell. and they make us yell stuff like chants during regionals, they are really into it.

Yeah we went from being dead in terms of spirit to having so much we got yelled at at SBPLI. Oh well. If you ask me FIRST is sort of hypocritical because they have a team spirit award but you can't make too much noise. How on Earth can a team have any form of spirit without making noise?

Why would they yell at you for having team spirit?
Was this by FIRST officials or other teams (many of whom don't get it). If it's a FIRST official you need to find out what the problem is and get it squared away with them so there are no future incidents. If it's another team that's their problem and they can get over it.

We in SPAM wear our team shirts to school but we do it for fun so it's unofficial. We also get the acassional morning announcement to say "good job" and how were doing.

No it is becuase we were using noise makers and with FIRST's dumb new rule on no noise makers they came over and said we couldn't use them. Even though we were using them to cheer on all the team not just ours. Whatevere it is done and over with and I personally fell FIRST should reconsider this rule in the future.
What is worse is that there were like five teams at another regional I attended that had the same exact kind of noise maker. And as far as I know they did not get yelled at.

We were using noise makers in Cleveland and no one said anything about it. Some of the Blue Lightning kids from Fairport in front of us starting using the extra tubs as drums during the match. If you want to raise a ruckus no one can really stop you uless you were using bangsticks which FIRST does have major issues with.

My team has always been a little low on spirit. It's not that they don't love their team, they're just a little reserved when it comes to making noise. Our team captain this year was really against noise makers and when he found out I was making some, he did some pleading. So we came up with noiseless makers. We removed the "jingles" from jingle bells, spray painted the bells red and wired them to black paintsticks. Most of the team loved the idea of disfunctional noisemakers, but we got a few head shakes from some of the other adults. Oh, the noiseless makers fell apart at the Richmond Regional along with our poor robot.

For the Annapolis Regional, I held a spirit contest and offered up a prize to the student or team of students who showed the most team spirit. I gave them extra points for picking on Dave Lavery and for getting some of our shy, quiet students to participate. this contest went over very well, and gave me lots of ideas for next year. And our Flight crew was happy they had people rooting them on.

I know the kids wear their team tee-shirts to school, but I don't think they do anything other than that.

Team Spirit is kind of hard with a team of only 10 students...all rookies, but we manage to get some stuff going.

We have team shirts and stuff...we start Congo lines at Regionals...dance to a few songs...make banners and posters...but we're having trouble with getting our whole team into things...considering that 4 are on the field team, leaving us with 6 in the stands...

We occassionally wear team shirts to school, never organized but some one during the school week is bound to be wearing theirs.
