FRC- Compatible Remote Controller for robots

Happy almost-build-season!

Given the success of our FTC ChapR (the patented Bluetooth controller for FTC robots), we’ve developed an FRC-compatible version! We’re trying to determine whether we should manufacture the device, so we’ve developed this quick survey to gauge interest. Please let us know what you think!

Re: FRC- Compatible Remote Controller for robots

I'm Rachel, one of the developers of the device and the CEO/founder of Chap Research, the innovation program within FRC 2468 that tackles these kinds of projects.

First off, thanks for all the feedback we’ve been getting! We’ll definitely still need more people to fill out the form to have any idea of the real demand (given non-response bias and whatnot).

I just wanted to clarify a couple common questions I saw in the feedback:

The ChapR is not a wireless joystick. It is a pocket-sized device to plug joysticks into.
$200 for the device is a very rough estimate, and includes “profit” to allow us to give away free ChapRs to teams in need.
The ChapR can cycle through autonomous/tele/end game with configurable timings (same as the driver station).

Let me know if you have any questions about the device from a technical standpoint! It was a lot of fun to develop (what with the Arduino, custom PCB and Linux daemon)!
