Large Discrepancy in Field Measurements

The first discrepancy we have found is in the given dimensions of the PLATFORMS. All references to the PLATFORMS (specifically section 2.2.2.1) in the Game Manual show them to be 4'2" in width. All field drawings show these platforms to be 4' exactly, leaving a 2 inch discrepancy. Another minor issue with the drawing of the PLATFORM in section 2.2.2.1 is that it lists the angle of the ramps to be 13.4 degrees whereas it should be 14.5 degrees (as the arcsin of 3 in/12 in is 14.5). I assume the correct width is 4' exactly as that is the standard size for plywood, but I'm not sure.

The really big discrepancy we have found is in the width of the field. In section 2.2 of the Game Manual, the field is listed as 26 feet 7 inches across (bound by the GUARDRAILS). According to the drawings, this 26'7" width of the field is spanned completely by the 5 DEFENSES (one Low Bar, 3 ALLIANCE selected, and one audience selected) of the OUTER WORKS, along with the SECRET PASSAGE. As referenced above the DEFENSES are either 4' or 4'2" in width (meaning all five cover either 20' or 20'10"). According to section 2.2.2.2, the SECRET PASSAGE is 4'5.5" wide including the berms. Finally, the 5 Shields are 3/8" thick, which adds 1.875". Now adding all of this up, we get the width of the field to be either 24'7.375" or 25'5.375". Either way this is significantly shorter than the 26'7" width of the field.

My question is, where does this discrepancy arise? Have we made some serious mistake in calculations? I apologize if this has been pointed out already. Thank you!
