Question Difference between Scoring and Passing

I am a member of Roxbotix Team 4361. I perused the manual for First Stronghold. I "ctrl-f'ed" for passing and I could not find anything. I have been talking to one of my team members and a question arose. Can you pass from your side to the opponents side of the field without getting a foul? If you can this would save a tremendous amount of time.

Thanks

Yes, by crossing their defenses.

When you say "you pass", I assumed the robot was traversing the field.

G40 - A ROBOT may not cause a BOULDER to move from the NEUTRAL ZONE into the opponent’s
COURTYARD unless:
A. the ROBOT contacts the BOULDER within OUTER WORKS, and
B. the ROBOT completes its CROSSING (i.e. doesn’t completely back out of the OUTER
WORKS into the NEUTRAL ZONE)
Violation: TECH FOUL per BOULDER
You need to have contact with the ball as you go through the Outer Works

Re: Difference between Scoring and Passing

You really owe it to yourself (and to every team you will ever play with) to read the manual in full...

If you did, you would have encountered rule G40, which governs moving Boulders down the field. To encourage you to actually read the manual, I won't state the rule here

You're going to have to explain by what you mean by "passing" to get a definite answer. If you mean launching the ball from your courtyard to your opponent's courtyard, this is forbidden by G39. I would also have a look at G40, which specifies the legal ways to take a boulder from the neutral zone to your opponent's courtyard.
