A universal code is great, because it allows any alliance robot on your side to know what's going on. It won't help opponents, because they can already see what's going on, so that won't hurt much.
Here's the list of things that should be discernible: •which way to move: a MUST. Without this, the spy is worthless. •when your good and can fire/perform function: Also a must. I also suggest for some tasks, teams try to line up with guide lines so that spies can tell it when it's good for firing. •What robot your talking to: of there are two robotics in the opponent's courtyard, then you need to be able to say which one your talking too. Otherwise, confusion will occur. |

That is a valid point. In that case I would either use a different color, or use a card/board that is unmistakably larger than that of the referees.
