Balls in tower

Can we throw more than 8 balls in the tower or castle since it is destroyed after 8 balls goes in?

I have yet to see anything saying they no longer count. But I don't not believe the tower can get negative health. So if after 8 boulder you get a tech foul, they return to 1 health on their tower. Hope this helped

Although the FIELD lights will only show a maximum STRENGTH equal to the starting STRENGTH and a
minimum STRENGTH equal to zero, there is no maximum or minimum STRENGTH for a TOWER.

You are still allowed to score after the tower is weakened.

You are allowed to score and you are allowed to have negative health on the tower. So tech fouls might not be such a big deal if your scoring a lot of boulders.

Like Shep said there is no minimum to the strength so you can keep scoring no matter how much strength it has. No tech foul after it gets 8. If I am mistaken my bad and plz tell me if I am.

3.1.4 The TOWER: Each TOWER starts the MATCH with eight (8) STRENGTH. Each BOULDER scored in a GOAL decreases
the TOWER’S STRENGTH by one (1). A TOWER is WEAKENED if the TOWER’S STRENGTH is at or below zero (0).

You guys are right and this is definitely interesting in terms of technical fouls later on.

Sounds to me like the health of the tower can go negative. It says in 3.1.4 that "A TOWER is WEAKENED if the TOWER'S STRENGTH is at or below (0)."

another thing to consider is that, as stated in 3.1.4, the strength of the tower can change for District Championships or FIRST Championships and that they'll let you know in advanced so you can adjust your strategy
