Drivers Station sizes
Sorry to ask this on here, but our team is a little stuck and we are on a time constraint today. We are building half of the field and we are trying to cut the driver's station front panels. The panels that are 3 ft tall, but we are unsure how long? Does anyone have this handy and could let us know. We can't seem to find it in the Game manual or field specs.
So appreciated

The Driver Station wall and support pieces are right at the beginning of 2016BasicFieldDrawings.pdf. The base diamond-plate panel might be "Item 1" on Sheet FE-00004, sheet 3 of 3; it is about the right size. But FIRST does tend to be precise yet unclear in their drawings.
This is the real "metal" field -- I don't know if there are any Team plywood version drawings. We just use a stack of totes for a driver station.

thanks for your time and help. 2.2.3.1 does not tell the length of the diamond plate, just the width 3ft. The shelf is 5'9''. I am not sure if the diamond plate is the exact same length.
We are trying to be as exact as possible because we hope to use our field for a scrimmage with other teams. The we can't find it in the field specs either. Any suggestions. Thanks for being a great resource.

The Driver Station shelf has to be less wide than the wall, as it folds flat to the wall when traveling and has to fit between the two Driver Station Supports. The Diamond Plate wall laps over the Driver Station Supports to make a solid wall on the field side. Sheet FE-00004-1 is an elevation of the wall from the Driver's side.
Again, study carefully the first 8 or 9 pages of 2016BasicFieldDrawings.pdf. The Game Manual may give proper dimensions, but the 2016BasicFieldDrawings.pdf gives all the dimensions to build the field. By the way, the AndyMark field they sell is similar to the FIRST field, but assembles faster because all the pieces are pre-assembled. The Driver Station wall takes longer to explain how to assemble than to actually assemble. Well, a little googling got my answer: back in 2005 Andy Baker started a CD thread about a wood version of the field itself, with a nice PDF link.
