Go to Post Mentors need to be sure that the team is on track to have a working robot ready. Students can do almost everything, but they need help watching the calender. Even if your ideas turn out bad, if your robot is inspectable and running when you arrive at your first event, anything can happen. - AcesPease [more]

BRIAN,

Just so I understand this correctly. I understand if you start in the neutral zone, go through the defense, and into the courtyard that will count as 1 "breach". Now let's say you start at the courtyard, go through the "same defense", and into the neutral zone. Will that count as a "breach" also?... IE (2 breaches) Or must you ALWAYS start in the neutral zone and go towards the courtyard for it to count as a "breach'?

A CROSS is only in one direction. From the Glossary:
Quote:
CROSS an act performed by a ROBOT, such that it starts free of contact with an opponent DEFENSE and completely in the NEUTRAL ZONE, traverses the DEFENSE such that its BUMPERS go fully between the adjacent SHIELDS/GUARDRAIL, and ends up fully contained by the opponent’s COURTYARD
You must go from NEUTRAL ZONE to COURTYARD for it to count as a CROSS.

If you go back from the COURTYARD to the NEUTRAL ZONE you are traversing the DEFENSE and thus are protected from interference per G43. But you get no points for it.
