Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

There seems to be no clear answer on whether or not a team can submit multiple nominations for the Woodie Flowers Award; in other words, we don't know if it's possible to submit one nomination for the Regional WFFA, and a separate re-nomination of a previous winner for the Championship WFA.

From my understanding, the new nomination for the Regional WFFA is submitted online, and the rewritten re-nomination for the Championship WFA is submitted to 2010WFAsubmitCMP@usfirst.org with the same deadline.

Does anyone have knowledge on whether this is true, and if so, when the re-nomination for the Championship WFA needs to be submitted by?

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

Under the Admin manual 6.8.1, each team may nominate ONE adult. So no more than one nomination.

That's for the WFFA at regional/districts. 6.8.7 covers resubmission for previous WFFA at Champs.

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

In 6.8.1 , it also states " If a team already has a mentor who has received the WFFA in a prior year, then that team may
re-submit that mentor in the current year in addition to nominating a mentor for the WFFA if they wish. "
I believe that clarifies the fact that multiple nominations are possible. However, the process through which we re-nominate a mentor for WFA while nominating a mentor for WFFA is still unclear.

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

Is there not a separate section for the award-submitting students in STIMS? I can't see that, because I'm a mentor

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

There's a section for submitting the WF essay for a regional, but not a separate section to renominate a WFFA mentor for the WFA at championships. We've concluded from the manual that we can submit BOTH but we can't figure out how or where. Maybe another section will open up after the regionals to renominate mentors for the WFA at championships? Any thoughts?

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

I distinctly remember that the last time I was an award submitter (2012, wow), there were two separate entry fields, one for a new nominee, and one for a past finalist.

But the manual (6.8.3) is pretty clear that you may submit a new nominee and re-submit a past finalist:
Quote:
Teams that have submitted a previous year WFFA recipient for the current FIRST Championship WFA and have a current Regional WFFA recipient will be asked by the WFA committee which Regional WFFA recipient from their team will be their FIRST Championship WFA candidate.
Unfortunately I no longer have access to the STIMS interface, so I can't help with that :/

Re: Multiple Submissions for the Woodie Flowers Award

The STIMS interface definitely has only one set of fields to nominate someone. With the deadline looming, who do we contact for this?

Well, my e-mail there resulted in a reply directing me to the QA forums. I posted a question there. We'll see what they say.

If you have an eligible mentor for the Championship WFFA, it will be pre-populated in STIMS.

It is in the Woodie Flowers section and will appear as a separate section underneath the district/regional nomination for this year. Once you select the section, you may need to use the drop-down box. The name will appear and the boxes will open for the nomination form, references, and pictures.

If you still can't find it, PM me. I'll work with one of my students on Monday to screen cap what ours looks like.

Julia
