Re: java smart dashboard and USB Cam help
I've seen some real strangeness here. I have two examples, the Simple Vision and our own code. Both use the CameraServer object (so you have to have your robot code running).
My configuration is - eclipse and SmartDashboard running on my Mac, On the SAME MAC, running under Parallels/Win8.1 I have the DriverStation, the default dashboard and the Java SmartDashboard. The camera view does NOT show up on the Mac's Java SmartDashboard. The camera view does NOT show up on the default dashboard The camera view DOES show up on the Windows Java SmartDashboard. I saw something in another thread (can't find it now) that discussed 32bit vs 64bit issues but it wasn't clear what needed to be 32 vs 64 and I'm not sure if that's my issue anyway. Frustration abounds. |

Re: java smart dashboard and USB Cam help
If the smart dashboard is giving you a network error and the driver station is spamming wpi errors here's what fixes it for us: open the labview dashboard, select "usb camera hw" then close the labview dashboard. That makes the feed show up on smartdashboard.
