Robot contact with other robots

Where in the rules does it specify how much contact robots can have? Can a defender contact an opposing robot in their courtyard? for example, in order to prevent an opponent from reaching the batter. Thank you.

Re: Robot contact with other robots

In general, it's allowed except where it's specifically prohibited. Examples of prohibited defenses include:
  • harming contact inside the other robots' frame perimeter
  • Preventing opposing robots from crossing (or presumed crossing) the defenses into/out of your courtyard
  • In the secret passages, the owner of the passage has right of way.
  • in your own courtyard during the last 20 seconds

This may not be complete; see the game manual for details.

Re: Robot contact with other robots

Was it ever settled if a robot is carrying a boulder and pushes another robot that has a boulder is it considered herding? That might be another case but I haven't been staying ontop of game rules as well since XCOM 2 is coming out today.

FOUND IT. Yeah you can shove robots that are holding a ball.
