Pneumatics Pressure gauges breaking?

We have had trouble with our pressure gauges that we get in the kit, andymark, Automation Direct, ceasing to work after a competition or so. If you ping them or tap them with a hammer they will sometimes move. The last few seasons have been extraordinarily "Bumpy". We anticipate the coming season with the defense being another bumpy one. Are there better gauges we can get? Preferably with out breaking the bank.

Thanks

Re: Pneumatics Pressure gauges breaking?

Have you checked ho your gauges are mounted? if they bump around, are impacted, crushed, or put above normal operating pressure, they tend to break or show incorrect pressure readings.

My recommendations:
1. handle your gauges with care wherever they are, or will be
2. mount them firmly to the robot so that they do not move
3. Make sure that minimal (if any) debris enters the gauge
4. Do not hit the assuages with a hammer
5. Seriously, impacting the gauges is one of the worst things you can do to it

I can't give you any more advice without seeing how you're mounting your gauges, but I hope I helped in some way

Re: Pneumatics Pressure gauges breaking?

^ yes, something's not right if your gauges are failing that quickly! Go through that list and if there's still any problems or questions post a pic of how your gauges are set up, we should be able to help you as something's not right with what you are doing. Those gauges should be lasting longer than that.
