3322 Shooter

Video of our practice shooter hitting the high goal multiple times. Note that the target is a bit higher than normal, as our practice bot was not completely assembled as of the time of this video. Credit for the video goes to Tommy on 3322.

Re: 3322 Shooter

Good job guys! Reminds me of that great shooter we had back in 2012. Good times. Next step is a 2 ball auto, right??

Re: 3322 Shooter

My team has a shooter very similar to that one. What are you guys using to achieve that accuracy rate?

Haha we can always dream of that. Could be too risky going over the centerline.

Impressive accuracy! Looks like the ball is coming out with front spin, so I'm guessing single wheel on top?

Re: 3322 Shooter

How far out are you guys from the goal? From what I am seeing it was shooting from pretty far away. Good job.

Not sure why Miles didn't answer your question. It's a two-stage* shooter using a pair of 3.5" colsons on each stage and a lexan-surfaced hood. Each stage is powered via belt by a 30:18 geared up miniCIM. Currently the motors are open-loop. We'll be closing the loop and implementing speed control real soon. Release angle is around 35-40 degrees to the horizontal. This particular shot is from the defence "safe zone."

Here's the best picture I have at the moment. Intake was between revisions at this point.

*In my opinion, this is the key to this shooter's accuracy. More time for the ball to reach shooter wheel speed means less slip, less slip means less variation in shot between balls.

I didn't think I knew how to give an accurate answer to that, but I can mention that no closed loop programming has been done yet.

Re: 3322 Shooter

Great job, guys! My only question is - are you using a wheeled shooting mechanism? And if so, are you using horizontal or vertical wheels?

Re: 3322 Shooter

The wheels are vertical. There are two stages, each with two 3 1/2 wheels. The first stage is a little slower than the second one.
